Coda to Youth
Coming November 30, 2026
Excel or die trying.
Those are the options given to the youth under the government’s new regime. Flag, child prodigy turned teenage renegade, wants to give people another choice: escape.
Using her technological skills and knack for computers, Flag and three friends smuggle people out of surveilled mega-cities and away to safety. Even dodging militarized police within the cities and hunted by soldiers outside them, the danger of what the quartet is doing doesn’t sink in.
Until one of them is shot.
Fueled by guilt, Flag presses onward with her remaining friends behind her, though more reluctantly than before. The mounting desperation from people in the cities stretches the lengths Flag’s willing to go to if it means helping just one more person. Even if her life ends up being the price. Anything to make up for the people they’ve lost.
But, disturbingly, their fallen friend might be much closer than any of them realize.
Coda to Youth is a cinematic YA dystopia with a queer main cast here to be a match in the dark.

Flies-On-Paper-Wings
out now!
Ten weeks before Raina finds herself standing over a fresh body on the side of the road, her life is lonely monotony. The same handful of pills, the same daily physio exercises, the same overprotective fathers. When an enigmatic student known only as Dances-In-The-Streets offers to sneak Raina out of the house and invites her to one of Dances’ infamous parties, it’s strange, but she’s not going to say no. She’s even willing to overlook the fact that Dances opens up a portal in her closet to get her there.
Rapidly, Raina falls down a rabbit hole of late nights in abandoned buildings, finally feeling something close to normal. When the toll on her body becomes too much to ignore, Dances takes her to meet some “friends” who can help. These friends are otherworldly creatures called the Others, who, if you can keep them entertained, will pause your body, keeping you young and even taking the edge off any physical ailments. The chance to live out the teenage years she missed without her chronic pain is a dream come true for Raina. But as Raina learns more about the true nature of the Others, she must decide what—or who—can she turn a blind eye to in pursuit of indefinite youth.
Written by a disabled author, this urban fantasy YA puts a neon filter over what it’s like being a disabled teenager, the pain of lost youth and the desperation to get it back when offered the chance.
I respectfully acknowledge the unceded traditional territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples on which I live, and the Songhees, Kosapsum and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day. I am grateful to be able to live and create on these lands.
